“Gruta das Torres” is the largest lava tunnel in the Azores, with 5,150 m total length. It displays a wide diversity of structures, such as pahoehoe and aa pavements, skylights, lava stalactites and stalagmites, lava balls, flow marks, levées, mineral deposits, and also several troglobian species.
